Madison, Wis. – This morning, Legislative Democrats introduced a bill to fund the Knowles-Nelson program, a grant program that supports Wisconsin state parks and other conservation efforts.
Representative Randy Udell (D-47th District) released the following statement:
“For the past thirty-five years, this program has ensured access to natural areas, protected public lands, and improved Wisconsin state parks. I was tremendously disappointed when legislative Republicans removed this funding from Governor Evers’ state budget this summer.
“Outdoor recreation is vital to Wisconsin culture. Whether hiking, fishing, camping, or hunting, Wisconsinites from Dane County to Superior cherish our outdoors. I am proud to coauthor this bill to reinstate our investment in Wisconsin’s trails, waterways, and public lands.”
