Madison… Representative Clint Moses (R-Menomonie) issued a statement today regarding the newly introduced “Keep Families Together” package, a series of bills proposed by Democrats in Madison.
“The so-called ‘Keep Families Together’ package would funnel taxpayer dollars into immigration
defense, block state, county, and city facilities from detaining individuals based on immigration status, and tie the hands of local governments from working with federal immigration enforcement,” said Rep. Moses.
The package includes legislation that would ban the detainment of individuals based on immigration status, provide grants for immigration-related legal services, and set identity requirements for federal officers.
“This is nothing more than a blueprint for turning Wisconsin into a sanctuary state at the expense of
hardworking Wisconsinites,” Rep. Moses said. “I will not stand for legislation that shifts costs onto our communities or puts Wisconsinites in danger.”
Rep. Moses emphasized that Wisconsin families deserve policies that prioritize their safety and the
responsible use of taxpayer dollars.
