Madison, Wis. – Yesterday, Legislative Democrats introduced four bills in a Labor package entitled “Build a Stronger Wisconsin.”
Representative Randy Udell (D-47th District) released the following statement:
“Union protections and the Labor Movement have always been the backbone of Wisconsin’s economy and workforce. Ever since Walker stripped Wisconsin Unions of their rights, our Middle Class has dwindled.
“These four bills would accomplish the following: reinstate Prevailing Wage to guarantee quality and fair compensation for public projects, remove obstructions to Project Labor Agreements to more readily meet public construction needs, address worker misclassification to ensure all workers are fairly paid and receive due benefits for their labor, and restore workers’ right to organize by repealing the Union-dismantling ‘Right-to-Work’ laws.
“It is past time we return Wisconsin to being a pro-worker state. I am so proud to stand beside Labor, and we will not rest until these bills become law.”
