MADISON, Wis. — In a (presumably) bleary-eyed haze last night, WI-03 Congressman Derrick Van Orden spent his Monday night scrolling through years of old Facebook posts just to double down on his 2020 election denialism. He commented on a Democratic Party of Wisconsin Facebook post from July 2023, which highlighted the Congressman attending the violent attack on law enforcement, saying, “Hell yes. Thank you for pointing out that I stand for voter integrity and respect for our institutions.” The Jan. 6th riots resulted in the deaths of nine people, including five Capitol Police officers.
“Scrolling through years of Facebook posts is another thing to add to the long list of things Wisconsin’s keyboard warrior Derrick Van Orden will do instead of meeting with his constituents face to face,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin spokesperson Philip Shulman. “Derrick Van Orden, who tweeted over 600 times last month, has turned his role as a Congressman into nothing more than a basement dwelling internet troll.”
