Revitalize Milwaukee Highlights Year-Round Critical Repair Work Amid Milwaukee’s Recent
Flooding Crisis
Milwaukee, WI — September 10, 2025 — In the aftermath of the recent devastating floods that
swept through Milwaukee neighborhoods, many homeowners — already living on the edge —
are now dealing with unsafe, unlivable conditions. For Revitalize Milwaukee, this flooding has
only heightened the urgency of a mission we carry out 365 days a year: providing critical home
repairs to Milwaukee and Waukesha County homeowners who are low-income seniors,
veterans, and people living with disabilities.
While we celebrate the meaningful impact we’ve made through critical home repairs, we remain
deeply aware of the ongoing housing challenges and are committed to continuing this vital work
until everyone has a safe and healthy place to call home.
Revitalize Milwaukee is hosting: “Home Sweet Home” on Thursday, September 11th, from 6:30
to 9:30 pm at Davidson Park (3725 W. Juneau Avenue). It is free to attend. Home Sweet Home
will bring together volunteers, neighbors, local leaders, and the families served by Revitalize
Milwaukee to lift up stories of resilience and remind the community that when we work together,
we build more than homes — we build hope.
“The recent flooding was heartbreaking, but it’s not the first time our homeowners have faced
hardship — and it won’t be the last,” said Melanie Roach, Revitalize Milwaukee CEO. “That’s
why we’re here year-round. Every day, we respond to emergency repairs, collapsed roofs,
failing furnaces, and now, waterlogged basements, damaged water heaters and furnaces.
Everyone deserves a safe place to call home — not just in times of crisis, but always.”
