GOP gubernatorial candidate Bill Berrien is again praising Donald Trump in a new digital ad as the southeastern Wisconsin businessman has faced questions over his past criticism of the president.

The ad is part of a $400,000 buy that Berrien announced in mid-July as part of his 2026 bid to succeed Dem Gov. Tony Evers. The campaign didn’t release specifics about the new digital ad.

He opens the spot noting his nine years as a Navy SEAL and decades in business before saying he’s never seen a leader like Trump. He adds when Trump “dodged that bullet and raised his fist,” he knew the president was changing history, securing our homeland, stopping woke indoctrination and protecting our daughters’ sports.

He adds, “As governor, I’ll stand with President Trump and bring his winning agenda to Wisconsin.”

Berrien has faced questions from some Trump supporters in Wisconsin over his support of Nikki Haley in the 2024 GOP primary and criticism of the former president in summer 2020 over his handling of the federal government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is the fourth ad of his buy. Each has mentioned Trump, with Berrien casting himself as a businessman and outsider like the president.
