MADISON, Wis. — Yesterday, Representative Karen DeSanto (D-40) was appointed by Assembly Speaker Robin Vos to serve on the Speaker’s Task Force on Rulemaking.
The Speaker’s Task Force on Rulemaking will identify agency rulemaking authority to be repealed by legislation. The task force will identify agencies that have broad rulemaking authority, including but are not limited to, environmental regulations, building code regulations, and fee setting authority.
As a member of this task force, Representative DeSanto released the following statement:
“Administrative rules are an important issue and following Evers v. Marklein II it is critical to take a bipartisan approach to address the rulemaking process. I am eager to have constructive conversations with my fellow members of this task force. I look forward to hearing from experts on this topic and working collaboratively to make recommendations on rulemaking to the full Assembly.”
