Madison – Today, State Representative Adam Neylon (R-Pewaukee) testified in favor of Assembly Bill 274, the Administrative Rule Sunset bill, that is part of the Republican party’s Red Tape Reset package.

The proposed Rule Sunset legislation creates a seven-year sunset review process, requiring every chapter of Wisconsin’s Administrative Code to be regularly reviewed and affirmatively justified. Rules that are outdated, duplicative, or no longer serve the public interest would automatically expire unless deliberately readopted.

After the hearing, Rep. Neylon issued the following statement:

“The Administrative Rule Sunset bill is about ensuring that every rule is up-to-date, justified and serving the public good. It’s about making Wisconsin more competitive, more responsive and more accountable. We owe the taxpayers, job creators, and working families of Wisconsin nothing less.”
