Madison, WI – Representative Alex Dallman (R-Markesan) and Senator John Jagler (R-Watertown) released the following statements regarding the passage of the Greg Quinn and Larry Millard Memorial Bridge bill (AB 429/SB 422). Both the Assembly and Senate passed the bill on a voice vote.
“I am very proud to see the Greg Quinn and Larry Millard Memorial Bridge bill pass both chambers and is now headed to Governor Evers’ desk,” said Representative Dallman. “These two brave firefighters gave the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty for our community, and their dedication and service to our state and community will be remembered forever.”
“I want to also thank the many family members and friends who testified in favor of the bill. Their stories and words about Greg and Larry made a significant impact on legislators. This bill would not have been possible without the strong support of the community,” said Representative Dallman.
“I was delighted to see this bill pass in both houses today” said Senator Jagler, “both these men gave the ultimate sacrifice for our communities, and now their names will live on to be remembered and thought of every time someone drives over the bridge.”
The bill specifically directs the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to designate the overpass bridge on I-39 over State Highway 82 in the town of Oxford in Marquette County as the “Greg Quinn and Larry Millard Memorial Bridge.”
