Before launching her firm, Hwang served as Vice Chancellor for Marketing, Communications, and University Relations at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, where she led the university’s first unified brand strategy, which culminated in the recently launched “Make New Waves” campaign and led enterprise-level communications that shaped public understanding of the institution’s mission and impact.

Her leadership experience also includes serving as the Assistant Deputy Secretary at the Wisconsin Department of Administration, the Director of Public Affairs at the Wisconsin Office of the Commissioner of Insurance, and senior communications roles in the Wisconsin Legislature, a multi-state nonprofit, and the Louisiana Department of Health, the Louisiana Governor’s Office for Coastal Activities, and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries. Across these roles, she has built bipartisan coalitions, guided multi-billion-dollar financial initiatives, and consistently positioned organizations to succeed under intense public and regulatory scrutiny—experience that directly informs the high-stakes strategy required by corporate and nonprofit leaders today.

Earlier in her career, Hwang played a key communications role in the State of Louisiana’s response to the 2010 BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill, contributing to public strategy and media engagement during a multi-year effort that culminated in a $20.8 billion civil settlement with BP, the largest with a single entity in U.S. Department of Justice history.
