Hi, I’m Representative Jim Piwowarcyzk and I represent the 98 th Assembly District. I wanted to take some time today to talk to you about something exciting we did at the State Capitol this week!
This week in the Capitol, we celebrated First Responders’ Day — a special time to recognize the incredible men and women who dedicate their lives to protecting and serving our communities.
First responders are the ones who answer the call when disaster strikes. They are the firefighters running into burning buildings, the EMTs providing critical care in moments of crisis, and the law enforcement officers who keep our neighborhoods safe. Their courage, skill, and quick thinking often mean the difference between life and death.
But their service goes far beyond emergencies. They are there on our worst days — offering comfort, reassurance, and stability when everything feels uncertain. They work nights, weekends, and holidays.
They miss family moments and personal milestones so the rest of us can feel secure. First responders embody the very best of public service. Their bravery reminds us what it means to put others first, and their dedication strengthens every community in Wisconsin.
As we reflect on First Responders’ Day, let’s take time to thank them — not just today, but every day — for their selflessness, their sacrifice, and their unwavering commitment to keeping us safe.
Thank you for your time, and have a great rest of the week!
