Madison, WI – Representative Scott Allen (R-Waukesha) was recently presented with the William Steiger Human Services Award, given in recognition of a Republican lawmaker for outstanding support of Community Action and low-income families.
He was nominated by Megan Mietchen, the Executive Director at Community Action Coalition for South Central Wisconsin, for his work on addressing the housing crisis.
Representative Allen released the following statement:
“I am honored to be presented with this award. Coming from humble beginnings, I know the
challenges that many in our community face and how important it is to serve those who need a helping hand to be able to thrive.
“Increasing housing options helps individuals and families to succeed and benefits our
communities. I will continue to push for creative solutions to increase our housing supply to keep housing affordable.”
