EAU CLAIRE, Wisc. – Today, U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin endorsed Rebecca Cooke for Congress in Wisconsin’s Third Congressional District. In a video shared on social media, Senator Baldwin laid out why Rebecca Cooke is the best candidate to defeat vulnerable incumbent Derrick Van Orden.

“As I traveled around Western Wisconsin last year campaigning for my own reelection, I got to know Rebecca and see her up close on the campaign trail. I know Rebecca will fight for the people of Western Wisconsin if we elect her to Congress,” Senator Baldwin said. “Over the past 10 months, we’ve seen what Republican control of Washington has meant for Wisconsin families; rising costs, fewer health care options as providers are forced to close, needless trade wars that have hurt Wisconsin farmers and the constant threats to our democracy. However, we have a real opportunity next year to provide some checks and balances, to fight back against these attacks—and it starts with electing Rebecca Cooke to Congress.”

“While representing 72 counties, Senator Baldwin is emblematic of what it means to run a constituent-centered office. She works hard every day to bridge partisan divides and deliver for hard-working Wisconsinites,” said Rebecca Cooke. “Senator Baldwin’s track record bolstering family farms, honoring veterans, and creating opportunities for small business owners across this state is second to none. I am grateful for her endorsement and support as we work together to flip this seat and win back the House.”

This latest endorsement comes after new polling showing Rebecca leading Rep. Derrick Van Orden 44 percent to 42 percent in a head-to-head matchup with 13 percent undecided. Earlier this month, the Cooke campaign announced raising more than $950,000 from over 16,260 individual donors, with an average donation of $44, in the third quarter of 2025. She’s raised approximately $3 million since launching her campaign. In the November 2024 general election, Rebecca outperformed the Harris-Walz ticket by more than 9,000 votes.

Rebecca is also endorsed by U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders, U.S. Senator Elissa Slotkin, 15 Members of Congress, State Senator Brad Pfaff, International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Councils 7 & 82, Office and Professional Employees International Union, Sheet Metal, Air, Rail, and Transportation (SMART) Union, UFCW Local 1473, Wisconsin Laborers’ District Council, American Association for Justice (AAJ), End Citizens United, the Blue Dog Coalition, the New Dem Action Fund, Elect Democratic Women, EMILY’s List, Welcome PAC and the National Coalition to Protect Social Security and Medicare PAC. She’s garnered the support of a broad coalition of farmers, small business owners, educators and healthcare workers across western Wisconsin. View the full list of endorsers here.
