Defend The Vote today endorsed Rebecca Cooke for the House of Representatives. Cooke is ready to take on the cost of corruption in Washington so we can bring down prices and make life more affordable.

“Wisconsin families are fed up with rising costs and a broken government that ignores them. Rebecca knows that building an economy that lowers prices and creates real opportunity requires bold changes to crack down on corruption and hold politicians accountable,” Defend The Vote Executive Director Brian Lemek said. “We’re excited to endorse her and look forward to helping her win next year.”

“Families in Wisconsin pay the price for corruption in Washington every day through higher grocery prices, rising energy costs, and unaffordable health care,” Cooke said. “I am proud to work with Defend the Vote to crack down on corruption and protect the voice and vote of families in our district.”

Cooke has committed to cracking down on corruption so we can lower costs, protect access to health care, and ensure our democracy works for the people, not just corporate lobbyists and billionaire donors.

She will protect the right to vote, and oppose any attempt to block eligible American citizens from the ballot box.

She’ll support anti-corruption policies as well as comprehensive reform legislation like the Freedom to Vote Act and John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.

Defend The Vote and Defend The Vote Action Fund launched a $14 million cycle plan earlier this year to support their respective missions, with DTV working to elect pro-democracy candidates and DTV Action Fund focused on pro-democracy issue advocacy.

DTV supports candidates through direct donations, fundraising support from its pro-democracy donor network, independent expenditures, issue briefings, message guidance and research, and on the ground and in-state campaign support.

Last cycle, it helped elect 108 pro-democracy candidates, including 75% of the candidates it endorsed.
