GREEN BAY, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin–Green Bay’s Communication and Media Arts and Production programs announced the appointment of Corey Behnke, co-founder and CEO of LiveX, as their new Practitioner in Residence on November 5, 2025.
In this role, Behnke will collaborate with students, faculty and other community partners to bring professional insight and hands-on experience into the classroom, strengthening connections between academic learning and real-world media production. Students will benefit from Behnke’s expertise as they build valuable skills that will prepare them for careers across media, production and digital storytelling.
“It’s an honor to be invited into this role by the faculty and staff at UW–Green Bay,” Behnke said. “Being a Green Bay native, it’s meaningful to bring what I’ve learned over the course of my live production career back to this community. This appointment is a chance to help students see that world-class production doesn’t just happen in New York or Los Angeles — it can happen right here in Wisconsin.”
UW-Green Bay continually seeks ways to connect faculty and staff expertise with the region in relevant ways—linking the university’s mission, resources and problem-solving approach to strengthen community engagement and drive the regional economy.
“To be successful in their future careers, our students need to have connections with faculty, staff and the local community,” said UW-Green Bay Dean Ryan Martin. “They need to have meaningful opportunities with local experts. This distinctive approach to research and creative activity will add to the vibrancy of Northeast Wisconsin, which is exactly what schools like UW-Green Bay should be doing.”
Behnke is an accomplished live broadcast producer and entrepreneur, best known as co-founder and CEO of LiveX. Through LiveX, he has produced some of the world’s most-watched live broadcasts and high-profile events, such as the Worldwide Webcast for New Year’s Eve in Times Square, which reaches more than six million viewers in over 190 countries each year.
He previously served as Head of Global Services and Production at Livestream.com, producing thousands of live events for major organizations and networks. Behnke’s professional experience also includes producing broadcasts for events such as the PGA Ryder Cup, Food Network Thanksgiving Live, and special programs with notable figures including Steven Spielberg, Ridley Scott and Daniel Day-Lewis.
Most recently, Behnke was named to the Titan 100 program in Wisconsin, which recognizes the top 100 CEOs and C-level executives throughout the state for their leadership, vision, and impact.
