MADISON, WI – Today, the Assembly held its last session day of 2025. Rep. Lori Palmeri released the following statement:

“Today the Assembly convened to vote on many bills, however, very few met the moment. With today being the last scheduled floor day of 2025, I had hoped we would be prioritizing bills that provide real relief to constituents. Instead, we heard bills that would close public schools and fine election observers,” stated Representative Palmeri.

“The legislation we heard today does nothing to lower the cost of living for our constituent and definitely doesn’t support our public schools. Meanwhile, bills with overwhelming constituent support, like the Reauthorization of the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program, die in committee.

“We spent a lot of time today debating how to address the financial gaps public schools are facing across the state. My answer is simple. Fund them.”
