WISCONSIN – Today, 46 instances of suspected election fraud were referred to prosecutors for further investigation and prosecution. Wisconsin’s decentralized structure ensures that voter rolls and and records are reviewed multiple times on Election Day before results are certified, and their efforts rooted out these limited instances of suspected election fraud across the state. The muicipal and county clerks work consistently following each election to triple check the records to make wholly sure any suspected fraudulent vote is identified and referred for prosecution.

The bipartisan Demoracy Defense Project – Wisconsin board released the following statement applauding the clerks for their efforts to keep Wisconsin elections safe and secure:

“This is why Wisconsin elections are so community focused. Your municipal clerk and county clerk get results before they are official, followed by regional audits. You cannot cheat in Wisconsin and get away with it and these referrals show exactly why. We ask prosecutors in these cases to pursue election cheaters to make an example of Wisconsin’s commitment to safe, secure elections”
