Franklin, WI – Forward Latino, a national non-profit, non-partisan service and advocacy organization headquartered in Franklin, Wisconsin and with affiliates and members in 29 states issued the following statement regarding the shooting of two District of Columbia National Guardsmen in Washington, D.C. earlier today who were deployed to the city by the Trump Administration.
Statement by National President Darryl Morin:
“We ask all our members, affiliates, and partners to join us in praying for the full recovery of the two District of Columbia National Guardsmen who were shot earlier today while on high-visibility patrol in our nation’s capital. Our thoughts and prayers are with them, their families, and their fellow service members at this difficult time.
Forward Latino condemns this heinous attack on members of the U.S. Military. While we strongly disagree with the unnecessary militarization of American cities, particularly when such decisions exclusively impact cities led by members of the opposing party, we unequivocally support the dedicated men and women who serve in our nation’s law enforcement agencies and military services.
We call for a full, transparent, and timely investigation into this tragic incident, and we look forward to learning more as the facts come forward.”
