Madison – Today, Representative Lindee Brill (R-Sheboygan Falls) released the following statement: “I appreciate the public interest and discussion of Assembly Bill 718: the Clean Water for All Life Act. I introduced this bill to protect our water supply from the harmful substances that are used in chemical abortion and to draw attention to the tragedy that many women confront as a result of at-home abortion. I have read the amendment that was offered following the intense and deceitful media campaign which spread misinformation regarding the bill. I believe the bill’s current language requires no change in order to achieve our goal: Clean Water for All Life. I would like to extend my thanks to Students for Life Action, who helped develop this bill, leads the charge nationally, and continues to work with me on the progression of this legislation.”
Kristan Hawkins, President of Students for Life Action, offered the following comment: “The inexplicable decision of Wisconsin State Rep. Nate Gustafson (R-Omro) to gut the Clean Water for All Life Act by pulling out the part of the bill that would prevent abortion water pollution and the part that penalizes those who are pushing deadly Chemical Abortion Pills makes as much sense as passing a seat belt law that doesn’t demand you wear the safety restraint. If you don’t demand the actions that protect life, the bill is meaningless, and certainly so-called pro-life, Republican, Rep. Gustafson knows that. With
friends like these who needs enemies? Why would somebody who calls himself Pro-Life turn against their own bill like this? It’s disheartening to see & that should never be done within the Republican coalition. Students for Life Action will stand with State Rep. Lindee Brill (R-Sheboygan Falls) who is fighting to address an environmental disaster caused by the reckless distribution of Chemical Abortion Pills, and we will fight with her to get this bill back on track.”
The representative’s office is located in Room 409 North at the Wisconsin State Capitol. She may be reached at (608) 237-9127 or by email at Rep.Brill@legis.wisconsin.gov. Representative Lindee Brill (R-Sheboygan Falls) serves the 27th Assembly District which includes portions of Sheboygan, Fond du Lac, Calumet, and Manitowoc counties.
