MADISON, Wis. — This week, Wisconsin Democrats introduced bills regarding paid family leave, school funding, agriculture, criminal justice, and more.
Representative Udell (D-47th District) released the following statement:
“My Democratic colleagues and I remain steadfast in our commitment to address affordability in Wisconsin, and our bill rollouts this week demonstrate this promise.
“We’ve brought forward a comprehensive medical leave proposal which would guarantee medical leave coverage to provide Wisconsin workers with security during unexpected illness or injury. Our agricultural proposals include farmland preservation, matching SNAP dollars for healthy local nutrition, and funding to promote Wisconsin’s exports. Our Save Our Schools package raises the public special education reimbursement rate to 90%, which will increase the flexibility of existing public school funds while providing property tax relief.
“As representatives of Wisconsin’s minority party, the unfortunate reality is that recent policy does not reflect what we believe is best for our constituents. However, to those equally as frustrated as we are; we hear your concerns, and we will not stop fighting to move Wisconsin forward.”
