The Dem group Opportunity Wisconsin has launched a media campaign knocking GOP U.S. Rep. Bryan Steil for supporting tariffs that the ad blames for rising grocery prices.
The group said it’s a seven-figure campaign that starts today and will run on TV and digital.
The first TV ad features a Kenosha firefighter identified as Joe, who says dinner time is hectic in his house and “you wouldn’t believe how much food we go through with five kids.”
He says tariffs “are driving grocery prices through the roof” and Steil, R-Janesville, voted to support them.

“I’m a firefighter, and my wife is a nurse. We should be able to afford to have a family meal,” Joe says to conclude the spot. “We need to tell Congressman Bryan Steil to stop raising our costs.”
