Madison, WI – Early Sunday morning, two shooters opened fire on hundreds of Jewish faithful gathered to celebrate the beginning of Hanukkah at Bondi Beach in Australia.
Senator Bob Wirch (D-Pleasant Prairie) released the following statement regarding the shooting: “No one should have to fear for their life because of their faith. Today, 11 people were killed and dozens more were wounded just because they were part of the Jewish community. I am shocked by this tragic act of violence and hate, and my heart goes out to the families of those who lost their lives. There is absolutely no place for antisemitism, both in the United States and around the world.”
