DE PERE, Wis. – Today, School Board Member Brandy Tollefson (D-De Pere) announced her candidacy for the 88th Assembly District. Tollefson currently serves as the Treasurer for the Unified School District of De Pere School Board and works as an accounting manager. Tollefson released the following statement:

“I am thrilled to announce my candidacy for the 88th Assembly District. As a mom, I know that budgets are tight and families are having to work harder than ever to get ahead. I am running to lower costs for working families, give our communities the resources they need to thrive, and make Wisconsin a better place for everyone.

“I wholeheartedly believe that our state can and should be doing better for the people of Wisconsin. Whether it is funding our public schools, lowering the cost of healthcare for families, or creating safe and strong communities, there is much more the legislature can be doing. I’m running to bring my professional and personal experiences to Madison and be a voice for this community.

“I love this community and for too long the Republican majority has ignored the needs of our community. We deserve better representation in Madison – I want to bring an old fashioned work ethic to Madison to deliver for our community. I am excited to share my vision for this district with voters and get to know their priorities for this district. Let’s get to work!”

Tollefson announced her candidacy today with endorsements from State Senator Jamie Wall, State Representative Ryan Spaude, De Pere School Board members Colleen Nowak and Matt Petersen, and attorney and Brown County Board candidate Andrea Gage.
