RAYMOND, Wis. – Yesterday, Nurses for America (NFA) announced their endorsement of ER nurse Mitchell Berman in Wisconsin’s 1st Congressional District.

“Nurses for America is proud to endorse Mitchell Berman for Congress. As a nurse serving patients in the emergency room himself, Mitchell is the advocate we need in Congress. He’ll stand up to protect nurses and patients, defend Wisconsinites’ health care and rural hospitals from devastating cuts, and work to lower costs and finally fix our broken healthcare system,” said Eileen Gordon of the Nurses for America Leadership Team.

The endorsement reflects Berman’s growing campaign momentum and his commitment to policies that strengthen the nursing profession, improve patient outcomes, and ensure that communities have access to high-quality, affordable healthcare.

“I’m honored to earn the endorsement of Nurses for America,” said Berman. “Nurses are on the frontlines of our healthcare system every day, advocating for their patients and strengthening our communities. In Congress, I’ll fight alongside them to support our healthcare workers and improve our broken healthcare system so it works for patients and families.  ”

Mitchell Berman is an emergency room nurse, union member, and first generation college student. He has worked in healthcare for more than 20 years and has spent the last decade caring for our veterans and their families as a nurse at the VA. He’s challenging current Republican incumbent Bryan Steil, a career politician and former corporate lawyer.
