MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) conducted an officer involved death investigation in the City of Madison, Dane County, Wis. that occurred on the evening of Monday, December 30, 2024.
After reviewing the materials provided by DCI, the Dane County District Attorney determined that there is no potential criminal court liability for the City of Madison Police Officers involved in this medical emergency incident. The Dane County District Attorney noted that the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office found that the cause of death was complications of cocaine toxicity, and that the manner of death was determined to be an accident.
