MADISON –Rep. Tony Kurtz (R-Wonewoc) issued the following statement after the Wisconsin State Assembly passed two bills extending the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program:
“The passage of Assembly Bills 315 and 612 today, are another step forward in ensuring the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program continues for generations to come. It’s not perfect, but I believe this is a good compromise that will protect all of the important aspects of the program, boost support for maintaining what we already own, ensure access for hunters, anglers and everyone who enjoys spending time in Wisconsin’s beautiful outdoors.
“I look forward to continuing to work with Senator Pat Testin and my senate colleagues to get this proposal to Governor Evers’ desk.”
