EAU CLAIRE, Wisc. – Today, Pete Buttigieg, former U.S. Secretary of Transportation and Mayor of South Bend, Ind., endorsed Rebecca Cooke for Congress in Wisconsin’s Third Congressional District.

“Rebecca knows firsthand why change is needed in Washington. She understands the importance of affordable housing, access to affordable health care, strong unions, and infrastructure that works,” said Buttigieg. “During my town hall in La Crosse, I heard the frustration people felt when Derrick Van Orden voted to slash health care funding and then refused to face constituents at a town hall to explain his votes. Rebecca will never turn her back on the people she serves, and that’s why I’m proud to endorse her campaign for Congress.”

“Pete understands what’s keeping people up at night and he shares my goal of evening the playing field for the middle class and building back an America where you can afford to buy a home and get the healthcare you need,” Rebecca Cooke said. “He knows this race is critical to flipping the House and delivering real economic relief for western Wisconsin. Together we are going to flip this seat, lower health care costs and end the culture of corruption in Congress.”

The latest endorsement for Rebecca comes after raising $1.1 million in the fourth quarter of 2025. Her campaign begins 2026 with more than $2.5 million cash on hand.

Rebecca is also endorsed by U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin, U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders, U.S. Senator Elissa Slotkin, 16 Members of Congress, State Senator Brad Pfaff, International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Councils 7 & 82, Office and Professional Employees International Union, Sheet Metal, Air, Rail, and Transportation (SMART) Union, UFCW Local 1473, Wisconsin Laborers’ District Council, IBEW State Conference, American Association for Justice (AAJ), End Citizens United, the Blue Dog Coalition, the New Dem Action Fund, Elect Democratic Women, EMILY’s List, Welcome PAC, and the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare PAC.
