WASHINGTON — Congressman Tony Wied (WI-08) announced today that he will begin accepting Community Project Funding (CPF) requests for Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District for Fiscal Year (FY) 2027.
“My top priority as Congressman for Wisconsin’s 8th District is to make life better for the great people of Northeast Wisconsin, and that includes securing federal funding for projects that improve our communities,” said Congressman Wied. “I was proud to secure over $12.4 Million in funding for FY26, and I look forward to bringing more resources back to our district this year. If you have a project that may qualify for federal funding, I encourage you to apply.”
CPF is a process that allows Members of Congress to request direct funding for projects that benefit the communities they represent. This process includes robust eligibility, ethics, and transparency guidelines and is available only to state, local, tribal, and territorial governments, as well as some nonprofits.
Requests must meet the following requirements:
- Community Support – Only projects with evidence of strong support from the community will be considered, and evidence of this support and community need is required as part of your submission.
- Financial Disclosure Statement – Members and their immediate family are prohibited from having a financial interest in the proposed project.
- Federal Nexus – To ensure a federal nexus exists for each funded project, the Committee will fund only projects tied to a federal authorization law. Requests must include a written statement describing the federal nexus for each Community Project Funding request.
- Maximum of 15 requests – Members of Congress may request no more than 15 CPF requests across all eligible accounts.
Requests should include specific information on the project’s benefits to people throughout Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional district, including Brown, Calumet, Door, Kewaunee, Marinette, Menominee, Oconto, Outagamie, Shawano, Waupaca, and Winnebago Counties.
Congressman Wied’s office will accept submissions until the close of business on April 3, 2026.
