Derrick Van Orden is desperately trying to cover up his record of attacking health care at every opportunity.
After casting the deciding vote to pass the largest cut to Medicaid in history as he literally runs on a pledge to repeal the Affordable Care Act, Van Orden is running scared because he knows Wisconsinites are fed up with his record.
Reminder of Van Orden’s REAL record on health care:
- Van Orden put more than 313,500 Wisconsinites at risk of losing health care coverage and jeopardized rural health clinics by voting to slash Medicaid by nearly $1 trillion.
- Van Orden’s own campaign website touts his support for a total repeal of the Affordable Care Act.
- Van Orden lied and falsely claimed credit for extra dollars in the state budget saving BadgerCare – which he had nothing to do with – AFTER voting for the single largest cut to Medicaid in history that put BadgerCare at risk to begin with.
- Van Orden is to blame for the 30,000 people in WI-03 who are paying an average of 123% more for their health insurance premiums – or simply dropping their coverage because they can’t afford it.
- Van Orden has even backed defunding the Mayo Clinic, which countless Wisconsinites rely on for health care.
