MADISON, Wis. — Today, the Wisconsin State Assembly concluded its penultimate week of the 2025-2026 Session, which is scheduled to end February 19th.
Representative Randy Udell (D-47th District) released the following statement:
“Millions of Wisconsinites are suffering under rising costs, unfunded services, and an antagonistic federal government. As such, our Legislature should be hard at work for our constituents. Instead, the Republican Majority has decided to end our 2025-2026 session in mid-February, months earlier than prior sessions.
“Today, Wisconsin Republicans voted down our proposals to demask ICE agents and remove election bribery loopholes. They failed to bring forward relevant bills to lower healthcare, housing, or grocery costs. Instead, they spent one of our final days yelling about culture-war fantasies.
“It’s disgraceful. What are we doing here, if we’re not funding education, improving healthcare, or addressing countless other real issues our constituents bring to us every day?”
