MADISON, Wis. — Assembly Democratic Leader Greta Neubauer (D-Racine) released the following statement regarding Republicans’ actions during today’s floor session:
“During today’s floor session, Legislative Republicans went to great lengths to avoid voting on Democratic amendments. Instead of joining us to take action on issues Wisconsinites actually care about, they used procedural tactics to help their vulnerable members avoid the votes our constituents want us to take. Their actions go against the spirit of our deliberative body.”
Republicans blocked the following Democratic amendments on abortion, contraception, and anti-corruption:
- AA2-AB1005 – Amendment to implement the Right to Contraception Act
- AA3-AB1005 – Amendment to Repeal the 1849 Law
- ASA1-AB757 – Amendment to Create Rules Governing Conflicts of Interest
- ASA2-AB757 – Amendment to Clarify Legislator District Residency Requirements
- ASA3-AB757 – Amendment to Institute a 1-Year Cool-Off for Legislators to Become Lobbyists
