[Wales, WI] – Wisconsin Waterfowl Association Executive Director Brad Heidel issued the following statement after the Senate Committee on Financial Institutions and Sporting Heritage passed legislation that will allow the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program to continue:

“The Wisconsin Waterfowl Association is grateful for the work of Senator Rob Stafsholt (R–New Richmond) and the Senate Committee on Financial Institutions and Sporting Heritage to advance legislation that will continue the Knowles‐Nelson Stewardship Program. This program has been one of Wisconsin’s most important tools for protecting wetlands, securing public access, and conserving the landscapes that support our state’s waterfowl and outdoor traditions. With the legislative calendar winding down, this timely action was essential to ensure the continuation of the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program. We appreciate the leadership by Sen. Stafsholt in getting this through his committee.”
