WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Republican Party of Eau Claire County headquarters in Altoona was vandalized overnight between Friday evening and Saturday morning.
In response, Congressman Derrick Van Orden released the following statement:
“This is the predictable result of reckless rhetoric from Democrat leaders who repeatedly demonize their political opponents and treat Republicans as enemies rather than fellow Americans. When a whole party inflames tensions and excuse hostility, acts like this are not surprising.
This is now the second time this year that Republicans in Eau Claire have been targeted. On January 8, our Eau Claire office was attacked. Today, the Republican Party of Eau Claire County headquarters was vandalized.
Political intimidation and vandalism have no place in our Republic. Republicans are absolutely sick and tired of the real-life consequences of Democrats’ violent rhetoric.
Disagreements belong at the ballot box and not through destruction and intimidation. Those responsible must be identified and held fully accountable.”
