Madison, WI… Senator Cory Tomczyk (R-Mosinee) released the following statement on Governor Evers’ 2026 State of the State address:
“Governor Evers was visibly relieved that he was delivering his last State of the State address. He had a hard time following his teleprompter and couldn’t stay on script.
“This week, Republicans in the Legislature proposed rebate checks to return the state surplus to the taxpayers, and Governor Evers quickly rejected that proposal. His ultra-liberal staff must not want to give Wisconsinites their money back.
“My friends and neighbors in Central Wisconsin are relieved that his reign is coming to an end. His 400-year tax increase will forever cement his legacy. Thankfully Republicans in the Legislature have rejected Governor Evers’ ridiculous over spending budgets and kept a tight grip on the states’ purse strings.
“In a few months Wisconsinites will be able to decide whether to become Minnesota or to rise as a leader in the Midwest.”
