The Wisconsin Counties Association (WCA) commends Assembly Speaker Robin Vos on his announcement of retirement today and thanks him for his years of dedicated service to the State of Wisconsin and its 72 counties.
“Throughout his tenure in the Wisconsin State Assembly, including his leadership as speaker, Representative Vos demonstrated a deep understanding of the vital role counties play as the foundation of Wisconsin’s communities,” said WCA President & CEO Mark D. O’Connell.
He continued, “Under Speaker Vos’ unmatched vision and intellect, counties have been able to work collaboratively with the Legislature on issues ranging from public safety and transportation to human services, economic development, and local government finance. He has been a leader, a collaborator, and a friend.”
O’Connell concluded, “Speaker Vos has long recognized that strong counties mean strong communities. His willingness to engage in thoughtful dialogue and pursue practical solutions has helped advance policies that support our local governments in delivering essential services to residents across our state.”
