Kenosha County Executive Samantha Kerkman today released the following statement on the announced retirement of Assembly Speaker Robin Vos:

“Robin and I have worked together for more than 20 years, and I knew of him well before that. He graduated shortly before I began college at UW-Whitewater, but his legacy was very much known on campus. And his involvement in Burlington politics intersected with my dad, whose business has been located there for many years.

“It was an honor and a privilege to work with Robin to solve problems for the people of Wisconsin during the 18 years we served together in the Assembly. We didn’t always agree, but we always worked to find common ground. Robin, like me, is someone who cares deeply about the state and our region.

“I wish Robin and Michelle good health, plenty of travel, and much happiness in the years ahead.”
