Today the State Assembly passed two bills following an agreement between the State Assembly and the Governor on PFAS mitigation. The bills will allow for the immediate release of $130 million directly to communities that need it most. Rep. Doyle had the following to say:

“No one should ever have to worry about whether or not the water coming out of their tap is safe to drink. Unfortunately, for far too long and for far too many of our neighbors, that worry was all too real. Today’s action in the Assembly will go a long way to erase those fears and to ensure every Wisconsinite has access to clean water. This legislation is a win for Wisconsin’s public health. I am proud to have voted yes and I look forward to seeing these bills become law.

At the start of the week the Governor gave his State of the State Speech and said that we have more work to do. He was right, and I am glad to see the Assembly agreed with him. These bills were a long time coming, and while they are not yet across the finish line, today’s action is an incredibly welcome step in the right direction.”
