Markesan, WI — Jason H. Preuss, a lifelong Green Lake County resident with over 28 years of local law enforcement experience, has announced his intent to run for Green Lake County Sheriff in the upcoming fall election.
Born and raised in Green Lake County, Preuss has spent his entire career serving the community he calls home. He currently lives in southern Green Lake County with his wife and teenage son. Over the course of nearly 30 years in law enforcement, he has worked in the communications/dispatch center, correctional facility, served as a Deputy Sheriff, a K-9 handler, and is currently a Patrol Sergeant.
Preuss says there was never any question about his career path. From a young age, he knew he wanted to work in law enforcement and give back to the county that raised him, with a goal to one day serve his community as the Sheriff. Throughout his career, he has prioritized a strong work ethic, dependability, and building community relationships.
Known for his hands-on approach and steady presence in high-pressure situations, Preuss says his goal as Sheriff is to continue the forward progress made under the current administration while maintaining stability within the department.
“This community deserves consistent leadership and experienced decision-making, and I look forward to making this a smooth transition,” Preuss said. “My focus is on continuing what’s working, supporting our staff, and serving the people of Green Lake County with integrity.”
Additional information will be shared in the coming months.
