MILWAUKEE — The Hon. Jill Karofsky, chief justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, will be the special guest for the next installment of the Marquette University Law School Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education’s “Get To Know” program series on Wednesday, March 4, at 12:15 p.m. at Eckstein Hall, 1215 W. Michigan St.

Karofsky was elected to the Wisconsin Supreme Court in 2020 and became the 29th chief justice in 2025. Her career includes service on the Dane County Circuit Court and with the Wisconsin Department of Justice. Karofsky will discuss her background, the responsibilities of the Wisconsin Supreme Court and its chief justice, and her plans and expectations. 

Mosley has served as director of the Law School’s Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education since 2023. A 1995 graduate of Marquette Law School, Mosley for seven years represented the state of Wisconsin in court as an assistant district attorney in Milwaukee County and then served as a judge of the Milwaukee Municipal Court for 20 years.

Through public programming such as the Marquette Law School Poll, conversations with newsmakers, public lectures by leading scholars, conferences on issues of public significance, and the work of its Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education, Marquette Law School seeks to advance civil discourse about law and public policy matters.
