Conservative Supreme Court candidate Maria Lazar knocked her liberal rival Chris Taylor as an activist, not a judge, in a new spot.

Lazar’s campaign said her new ad is part of a significant six-figure statewide buy but didn’t share other details.

The narrator in the spot says, “Madison politicians broke our state. Now, Chris Taylor wants to break our courts.”

The narrator adds Taylor’s agenda includes pushing for non-citizen voting and weakening voter ID before saying Wisconsin “needs a firewall.” It touts Lazar as a former prosecutor, not a politician, and a constitutional conservative.

The narrator concludes the ad, “She’ll stop the activism and protect your vote. No agendas, simply justice. Vote Maria Lazar.”

Taylor finished the pre-primary period Feb. 2 with $2.1 million in the bank, a significant advantage over Lazar, who had $308,969.
