Clinton, WI: State Senate candidate Ellen Schutt announced today that she has earned the endorsement of Assembly Majority Leader Tyler August. She is running to succeed Senator Steve Nass, who announced his retirement last month.

“Ellen Schutt is exactly the kind of principled Republican we need in the State Senate,” said Majority Leader August. “She’s proven she can take on tough fights and deliver real results for taxpayers and working families. I’m proud to support her and look forward to working with her to serve our constituents and stand up for conservative values.”

Schutt, who grew up on a farm in rural Walworth County, previously represented the 31st District in the State Assembly. There, she led efforts to expand tax relief for married couples, stood with law enforcement, gave farmers a stronger voice in public policy, and authored legislation creating safe haven baby boxes that have a proven, life-saving track record.

“I’m grateful to Majority Leader Tyler August for his trust and support,” Schutt said. “Together, we’re fighting to keep Wisconsin on the right track – defending taxpayers, supporting law enforcement, protecting life, strengthening our communities, and ensuring government lives within its means so families can thrive.”

Schutt and her husband, Eric, make their home in Clinton, where they are raising their young son and remain deeply rooted in the values of rural southeastern Wisconsin. She works with the Wisconsin FFA Foundation, supporting agricultural education and developing the next generation of leaders throughout the state.
