MADISON, Wis— A leading Latino civil rights group has declared its endorsement of Huma Ahsan for the Dane County Circuit Court Branch 1 judicial race.

After more than 25 years in a legal career dedicated to fighting for underserved communities, Huma Ahsan has been compelled to run in this judicial election to ensure that the law serves the people — all people — regardless of where they come from, how much they earn, or what language they speak. She welcomes Voces de la Frontera Action as an ally in that endeavor.

”Voces de la Frontera Action is a strong partner and advocate in the fight to ensure that due process is due to everyone,” says Ahsan. “The fairness and impartiality of our courts is being tested more than ever before, and I refuse to sit back while our foundational rights are treated as negotiable. Who sits in this position of power will determine if all people of Dane County are seen and heard in our court system. I’m grateful for the endorsement of this respected organization and its belief in our campaign that seeks justice for everybody.”

Voces de la Frontera, which was established in 1994, has as its mission organizing and empowering immigrant workers and their families for over 20 years. It joins the Dane County Democratic Party, Adelante, and many prominent officials that have already endorsed Ahsan’s campaign. With the help of these friends, Ahsan is confident that she will prevail on Election Day.
