Martinez-Rutherford draws broad, progressive support in campaign to represent District 76.
Madison, WI – Today, Dina Nina Martinez-Rutherford’s campaign for State Assembly announced endorsements from more than 65 current and former elected officials in Dane County and across Wisconsin.
“Our campaign is about people. We’re fighting for a future where we take care of one another and we can all afford to live with dignity,” said Martinez-Rutherford. “I’m so grateful for the support our campaign has received. Together, we’re building a movement to win real power for working people in Wisconsin.”
Dina Nina’s endorsements include current and former state legislators, mayors, alders, county supervisors, and school board members.
“Dina is truly committed to improving affordability for all Wisconsin families. Her lived experience dealing with the high housing costs here in Dane County means she understands firsthand the challenges working people face. Whether it’s fair tax policy, funding public education, or reducing healthcare costs, Dina will fight for what’s right for Wisconsin,” said State Representative Andrew Hysell.
“Representation matters. Dina Nina will bring a much-needed perspective to the State Assembly along with her significant knowledge and her caring, collaborative approach to public service. I have worked with her and know her personally. We need her in the legislature,” said State Senator Melissa Ratcliff.
“Grounded in her compassion and care for others, Dina knows firsthand the hardship that so many of our neighbors face. As an alder, she’s worked to invest in more affordable housing, grow our small businesses, and expand services for those in need. The people of District 76 deserve a strong, trusted leader who will fight for our progressive values – lowering costs for working families and protecting our democracy from Republican attacks. Dina Nina is that leader,” said Madison Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway.
“Dina centers compassion and empathy in everything she does. She shows up. She listens. She cares. I’ve seen her organize against injustice wherever it may be – as a community leader, an advocate, and a member of the Madison Common Council. We need Dina’s voice now more than ever. I know she will work to uplift underrepresented voices, fully fund public schools, and support all our students and educators,” said Madison School Board Member Ali Muldrow.
“Dina Nina has been a tireless advocate for our community, bringing deep dedication to public service and a proven track record of delivering results for working families. We need leaders who don’t just talk about equity and justice but know how to build power from the ground up,” said Madison Alder Carmella Glenn.
“I am so pleased to endorse Dina Nina Martinez-Rutherford for the Wisconsin State Assembly. Her passion for service and lifting people up is genuine, powerful, and needed. I have been impressed by her work on the Madison Common Council, fighting for truly affordable housing, good paying jobs, and strong services. Grounded in her lived experience, Dina will be an effective legislator and advocate for the people of District 76,” said former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk.
A full list of endorsements is included below. Dina Nina has also been endorsed by over six dozen community leaders from District 76 and across Madison.
The 76th Assembly District is currently represented by State Representative Francesca Hong, who is running for Governor. The district includes downtown Madison, Maple Bluff, and neighborhoods on the East and North Side. For more information about Dina Nina’s campaign, visit votedinanina.com.
