Wisconsin State Firefighter Association Highlights Passage of AB 651

MADISON, WI…The Wisconsin State Firefighters Association held their Annual Convention in Green Bay this weekend.  As part of the convention, the organization recognized State Senator André Jacque (New Franken) for his “exceptional leadership and advocacy for legislation supporting the Wisconsin volunteer fire service.”

The group specifically recognized Senator Jacque for his advocacy of legislation to extend Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) coverage to volunteer and part-time firefighters and EMS personnel.  Assembly Bill 651 passed both legislative chambers with overwhelming bipartisan support and is now awaiting the governor’s signature.

“I am honored to be recognized by the Wisconsin State Firefighters Association, and am grateful for the important work they do for firefighters and all those who rush toward danger to protect our communities throughout the state,” said Jacque.

“These heroes willingly sacrifice their time and personal safety as a first response to safeguard our communities from numerous threats and deserve our utmost support and appreciation,” said Jacque.

Senator André Jacque represents Northeast Wisconsin’s First Senate District, consisting of Door and Kewaunee Counties and portions of Brown, Calumet, Manitowoc, and Outagamie counties.
