The Dane County GOP has started a new ad in the Supreme Court race urging voters to back conservative Maria Lazar to “protect your wallet and the balance of the court.”

The party said it spent $22,000 on radio and $8,000 on streaming to run the ad.

The narrator opens the spot on Gov. Tony Evers’ 400-year veto saying “politician Chris Taylor” wants a seat on the court to create a liberal supermajority, “giving the governor more power.”

The narrator then says Lazar is different, “respects the constitution and keeps lawmaking where it belongs, in the Legislature.”

The spot closes, “Voters: Protect your wallets and the balance of the court. Vote Judge Maria Lazar on April 7.”
