Madison, WI – Today, Racine St. Catherine’s beat Seymour in the WIAA Division 3 State Boys Basketball Championship game at the Kohl Center in Madison. Following the win, Senator Bob Wirch (D-Pleasant Prairie) released the following statement:

“Led by Lamont Hamilton, Racine County’s all-time leading scorer, the Angels demonstrated incredible fight and resilience throughout the season and the state tournament. With hard-fought wins over Lake Mills and Seymour, this St. Catherine’s team joins a long history of basketball excellence in Racine, cemented by area greats Caron Butler and Keisha Anderson. I am incredibly proud of these young men, many of whom have played together since they were young kids in the Caron Butler YMCA league. Understanding the value of hard work, perseverance, and collaboration will serve them well long after they leave the basketball court, enter their adult lives, and become leaders in our community.”
