WI – Brayden Myer, an America First Republican candidate for Wisconsin Secretary of State, has announced a bold, common sense plan for election integrity reform, ending bureaucratic control and returning power to the people.
“For too long, Wisconsin’s elections have been controlled by unaccountable bureaucrats,” says Myer. “Voters deserve a system that delivers transparency and accountability, and I am running to delivery exactly that.”
At the core of this plan is the abolition of the Wisconsin Elections Commission and putting the Secretary of State in charge of elections. “Voters deserve a direct link between them and their elections administrator. This is the reform our state needs,” continues Myer.
This plan includes reforms to clean up Wisconsin’s voter rolls through having regular, mandatory audits, removing inactive voter records, and removing their cost. “Right now, Wisconsin’s voter rolls have over two million more people on the list than the population of Wisconsin,” says Myer. “Only eligible voters should be able to vote, and their votes should be counted transparently and accurately. That is not controversial; that is common sense.”
Also included in this plan is the requirement to go to hand-counted paper ballots statewide. “Our nation and many others have conducted elections using hand-counted paper ballots for many years. This is the most secure way to conduct elections, and it needs to be the only way,” Myer believes.
“It is time to implement a plan that will benefit all Wisconsinites. To do that, we need to elect a new generation of leadership, leadership that will not back down when pressured by Madison insiders. I will work to implement my vision and not be swayed by any backroom offers,” states Myer.
Myer is a small business owner who earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science just six months after high school, was designated Magna Cum Laude, has minors in Public Administration and Democracy and Justice Studies, and received a certificate in Organizational Development from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. He has experience assisting constituents as a former Congressional staffer.
Myer is the founding Vice Chair of the Manitowoc County chapter of Moms for Liberty and the founder of Manitowoc County Patriots. He was the vice president of the Lincoln High School Young Republicans and treasurer of the UWGB College Republicans. He is on the Rules Committee for this year’s Republican Party of Wisconsin convention.
