HOLMEN – La Crosse County Board candidate Chris Muller today expressed disappointment over the growing influence of out-of-state special interest money in what is traditionally a local, community-focused election.

Muller contrasted his grassroots campaign with what he describes as a heavily funded effort backed by national organizations far removed from the Coulee Region.

“This is a classic David versus Goliath election campaign. My opponent has a million dollars in his account from special interest groups across the country to run radio ads and I’ve got roughly $300 to print out postcards and letters to voters.”

Muller emphasized that local elections should be decided by local voters—not outside money—and warned that entrenched political leadership combined with outside funding risks the kind of waste, fraud, and abuse that we have witnessed just across the river in Minnesota.

“My opponent has held this County Board seat since the 1980’s. If nothing changes, then nothing will change. Your vote might be the one to defeat the abuse of tax payers caused by my opponent for decades but you must vote in order to defeat those special interest dollars.”

With early voting already underway, Muller is encouraging residents to make a plan to vote now.
