MADISON – Wisconsin employers are encouraged to apply for about $1 million in Wisconsin Fast Forward (WFF) grants, offered through the Department of Workforce Development (DWD) to address the state’s demand for skilled workers. This funding round is available to employers from every industry and of all sizes across the state.
The WFF program funds innovative local and regional solutions that help employers meet their workforce needs. Grants reimburse the costs of customized occupational training for unemployed, underemployed, and existing workers. About $1 million is available for grants ranging from $5,000 to $400,000 or higher for consortium applicants. Through the grants, workers receive training that qualifies them for full-time positions, higher-level roles, or increased wages.
“During this Year of the Neighbor in Wisconsin, we’re excited to continue Gov. Tony Evers’ strategic investments in the state’s workforce through the Wisconsin Fast Forward program,” said DWD Secretary Amy Pechacek. “These training grants help employers to fill in-demand positions, offer workers the skills they need to succeed, and strengthen Wisconsin’s workforce for the future.”
Eligible applicants include:
- Public agencies
- Private organizations in all industry sectors
- A consortium with the lead public or private organization serving as the applicant
- Tribal governing bodies of a federally recognized tribe or band of Native Americans or an organization appointed by a tribal governing body
Applications are due by 3 p.m. CST Monday, May 4, 2026.
