Madison – Last week, Governor Evers signed Assembly Bill 562 to install signage designating the Mississippi River Trail. Rep. Billings supported this legislation and released the following statement:

“I was proud to attend the signing of AB 562 last week. This new law is an important step to support the Mississippi River Trail and bolster tourism in our region. Increasing public awareness and access to this scenic trail through signage will make it easier to navigate and increase its use by both residents and visitors.”

“As a member of the Wisconsin Mississippi River Parkway Commission, I know how important this trail is to our region. The Mississippi River is an incredible natural resource and by increasing public access to outdoor recreation opportunities, we are supporting tourism and the economies of communities along the trail. I am glad that this bipartisan legislation is now law and Western Wisconsin will benefit from increased awareness of this wonderful trail.”
